About the Role:

The Clinical Documentation Specialist position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth billing process by obtaining necessary clinical documentation from various sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and prioritize work to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Understand and interpret third-party payer benefits and eligibility
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of clinical documentation, including medical records, prescriptions, operative reports, and history and physicals, based on billing criteria
  • Communicate internally and externally to obtain missing documentation required for placement and/or billing, which may involve working with home health agencies, patients, hospital/facilities, and physicians
  • Follow and enforce all Company policies and procedures
  • Develop and manage customer relationships, fostering loyalty with Clinical Providers
  • Meet weekly/monthly/quarterly production expectations based on department priorities
  • Utilize computer software extensively for repetitive keyboarding and phone usage

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a Call Center environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced English language proficiency (C1)
  • Flexibility and adaptability in schedule, workflow processes, and priorities
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to interact effectively with all employees and external business contacts
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Demonstrated confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and sound business judgment
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of related healthcare experience
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Understanding of benefits and eligibility for commercial and government payers
