We are currently seeking a Senior Android Developer to contribute to our initiatives in Costa Rica.

Position Summary:

The Android Developer will be instrumental in the creation of applications for devices utilizing the Android operating system. This role involves collaboration with a skilled team of engineers to design and develop the next generation of mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish organizational standards surrounding best practices in Android Development.
  • Develop comprehensive work plans, timelines, project estimates, resource allocations, and progress reports.
  • Engage with senior project personnel and client management teams regarding project statuses.
  • Propose and oversee enhancements to processes.
  • Implement automation and testing to optimize the development pipeline. Collaborate with agile teams to identify methodologies, dependencies, tasks, and opportunities for automation; mentor fellow team members and assist in recruiting top talent.
  • Monitor data flow within applications and comprehend overall business logic.
  • Utilize automation to support all development efforts.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Google Assistant and Actions on Google, with experience in various programming languages and technologies such as React, Clojure, AWS Lambda, Java, Python, Ruby, Go, and Swift.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype to demonstrate potential new features for existing applications and new applications.
  • Strong expertise in Android, Java, Kotlin, and integrating RESTful web services on mobile platforms.
  • Extensive knowledge of MVVM and MVP design patterns.
  • Experience in fully automated development, build, testing, and deployment processes for native applications.
  • Familiarity with Android Development standards, app release guidelines, and Material Design principles set by Google. Knowledge of push notifications and their functionalities within applications, as well as Dagger, Retrofit, and RxJava.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in migrating applications to cloud environments and developing cloud-native solutions.
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework and DevOps practices.
  • Relevant certifications in Android SDK, Java, Kotlin, Android Studio, scripting languages, DevOps, or Scrum.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
