Support the goals and activities of the Data Governance Manager working within the Compliance and Governance team for a major client in the technology sector. The Global Data Governance Manager has 2nd line-of-defense (Lod) responsibility for establishing data governance globally to ensure the proper management of the organization’s global data assets.
This involves establishing data governance policies, standards, and processes across all commercial real estate data governance areas and overseeing the adoption of the data governance framework.

Role Purpose
Support the goals and work of the Global Data Governance Manager by helping to develop, establish, and promote data governance standards, policies, and processes.
Ensure data assets are effectively managed, protected, and leveraged to support business objectives according to the data governance framework and related standards.
Support the establishment and adoption of data governance procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Provide guidance to increase controllership and enhance compliance with relevant company internal policies.
Partner with other relevant cross function teams to ensure consistency of practices and smooth and efficient data management processes for company.
Engage with senior stakeholders to get their buy-in for strategic and tactical data governance initiatives.
Engage with stakeholders to review and refine data governance frameworks, standards, processes and procedures.
Collaborate with data management teams, data stewards and data owners to document and improve data lifecycle processes including data creation, data sharing, data storage and availability, and data transformations.
Help to ensure that data collection, processing, and storage, including implementations of smart technologies, complies with data governance standards, internal policies, and legal requirements globally.
Interface with data owners to document the current scope of tools, establish desired future state, in compliance with legal requirements and policies, and help develop the strategic roadmap to achieve those ambitions
Review existing data standards, classify these standards, define and record relevant attributes, and document the data standards and communicate with the leadership
Serve as primary day-to-day contact for regional/global data compliance issues
Partner with peers in the company data governance group, Tech team, Public Policy, HR and other internal stakeholders to ensure consistency
Responsible for documentation of business processes and standard operations related to data governance and maintenance
Promote a culture of privacy legal compliance, proactively engaging peers and stakeholders across business, operations, and technology teams to educate on data compliance requirements across the globe
Prepare reports to senior compliance stakeholders with timely and actionable information concerning the health of global data and tools compliance programs
Awareness of appropriate controls that are established for each key risk and those controls are assessed for suitability and effectiveness on an ongoing basis.
Effectively using systems and controlled processes and practice

Desired skills and experience for this job
A Bachelor's degree (ideally in one of the following accounting; engineering; finance or economics; IT; law; management or business studies; mathematics; risk management; science or statistics).
Minimum of six years of data governance experience in any industry.
Subject-matter-expert in data governance.
Experience of engaging with and earning the trust of key stakeholders at all levels.
Strong awareness and understanding of risk management principles and procedures, as well as the wider business and economic context.
Well-organized and structured approach to managing a complex workload.
Able to own, drive and deliver results.
Pragmatic and logical problem solver. Ability to Dive Deep to analyze complex problems, resolve issues and recommend solutions based on root-cause analysis.
Collaborative team player able to help establish a culture of openness and excellence in data governance.
Creative thinker, driving change and able to adapt to an ever-changing work environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Numerical skills and commercial awareness.
