Job Description

Role Summary

As a Payroll Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of managing payroll preparation and processing activities to ensure timely and accurate wage payment. With a deep understanding of payroll practices under Costa Rican regulations, you will play a crucial role in enhancing payroll service delivery through effective vendor management, process improvement and automation. This position requires a high level of resilience and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have the capacity to handle a significant workload and navigate the complexities of global stakeholder management, all while contributing to our staff experience and overarching people strategy by providing exceptional payroll services.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Extensive payroll management expertise, with specific knowledge of Costa Rican regulations. Leadership acumen, with proven skills in managing and developing a payroll team. Strategic process improvement abilities, with experience in enhancing payroll operations. Vendor management capabilities, adaptable to changes in payroll processing models. Analytical prowess for critical review and problem-solving within payroll functions. Technical proficiency in payroll systems, with a preference for Oracle experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll operations for timely and accurate processing, ensuring compliance and efficiency. Supervise the payroll team, providing leadership and direction for all payroll activities. Collaborate with varies teams, such as Accounting and Finance, to reconcile payroll data and maintain financial integrity. Guide process optimization, reducing errors and increasing the quality of payroll services.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Payroll experience, with 2+ years in a people management role.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, enabling effective communication across the organization.
  • Experience in multinational or corporate settings, enhancing the ability to manage complex payroll systems.
  • Postgraduate diploma/degree or equivalent professional experience in finance, accounting, or related field.

This role is responsible for the accuracy and compliance of payroll processes, directly affecting employee trust. As a leader, the Payroll Supervisor will stabilize the payroll team, navigate complex regulatory environments. The Payroll Supervisor can impact different areas such as: Operational Excellence, Employee Satisfaction and Compliance and Risk Mitigation.
