Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to maintain financial integrity.
  • Prepare and record journal entries, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Generate detailed financial reports, including budget analyses and account reconciliations, to support strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to verify accuracy across all financial statements.
  • Support administrative functions such as data entry (including 10 key typing), document organization, and correspondence management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles including GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting concepts like journal entries, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet management.
  • Experience handling accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and tax-related tasks.
  • Ability to perform detailed account analysis and prepare comprehensive financial reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing required.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and vendors.
