The team and the role

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization supports our business, market and enabling area leaders with world class financial and decision support. FP&A is made up of advisors who are influential in decision-making and partner with finance leaders to drive meaningful strategic and financial outcomes

Within FP&A, the Centers of Excellence (COE) teams define and drive leading practices and provide subject matter guidance across the firm, partnering with operational FP&A teams to maximize value and insight delivered to the business. The Investment COE provides firm leaders with enhanced transparency, deeper insights to support timely and effective decision-making around investments and significant spend, provide thought leadership and direction to develop and promote adoption of leading practices across Deloitte's Finance organization. Specific responsibilities and qualifications for the Manager role are outlined below.

Work you'll do

Core responsibilities

• Work with business and Enabling Area leadership to develop a detailed investment management plan for organic and inorganic investments and report on return on investment (ROI) to support decision making
• Manage the portfolio analysis of strategic investments and significant spend to align investments between Long-Term Plan (LTP), Global Summit, and Annual Plan
• Manage the end-to-end investment management process for the firm, including advising on business case development, reviewing deliverables, and making recommendations to leaders about investment performance
• Establish increased transparency and rigor for investment reporting to end-users and leadership
• Provide analysis to assess financial impact to annual plan, long-term plan and collaborate with Investment COE reporting & forecasting capability and FBPs to ensure reflected accordingly
• Facilitate financial and strategic reviews for major in-flight investments to ensure alignment to strategic and financial objectives
• Lead assumption gathering sessions with cross-functional business teams
• Gather internal and external benchmarks to pressure test financial model assumptions
• Create and refine detailed driver-based financial models for investments
• Develop detailed presentations to document the business case assumptions and financial model outputs including Profit and Loss (P&L) impacts and relevant KPIs
• Develop briefing materials to inform Finance leadership of investment performance/economics, risks/challenges, opportunities, and recommendations
• Incorporate insights & outputs into strategic investment planning
• Create standardization report-out of investments to provide structure, efficiencies, and transparency to spend and return on investments

Other responsibilities

• Develop timelines, milestones, and metrics to effectively plan and execute projects. Keep stakeholders and leaders informed of project progress
• Advise on key messaging and presentation content to communicate the intended story and achieve business outcomes; Collaborate closely with stakeholders and senior leadership
• Provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership and support the decision-making process
• Manage project teams and mentor junior staff; support professional development

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related subject
• Minimum of 8+ years of relevant Finance experience
• Demonstrated accomplishments in the following areas: Financial reporting and analysis
• Planning and forecasting
• Project management
• Data analysis, management, and visualization
• Strategy development
• Quality and risk management
• Business and process improvement
• Develop action plans
• Advanced in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Preferred:

• Advanced education degree
• Experience in a professional services firm
• Work with senior leadership
• Understanding of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
• Advanced knowledge of financial systems (SAP, Anaplan)
• Ability to travel as needed
