Job Summary:

The Senior Operations FP&A Analyst will be responsible for supporting typical finance rhythms including month-end close, quarterly financial planning, annual budgeting, and strategy. Additionally, this individual will be a key contributor in operating cadences utilized to enhance business decision-making such as demand planning, site reviews, KPI tracking, capital expense, accounting compliance, productivity, and partnering with functional teams to provide financial insights to help drive performance

This role is a key, hands-on position supporting the manufacturing site in Alajuela, Costa Rica and reports into the FP&A Operations Manager. The individual will have responsibilities spanning multiple workstreams focused on financial analysis, business partnering, reporting, and general ad-hoc support. Your considerable knowledge of Cost Accounting and Finance theory will help leaders understand the financial implications of potential business decisions. As this role requires a broad understanding of global manufacturing it requires strong financial acumen along with a robust business sense, ability to think critically, and effective communication skills.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of standard cost is required
  • Proactive individual with an aptitude to learn who strives for continuous improvement
  • Strong acumen and experience within an ERP system (Navision, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
  • Strong acumen and experience with a Financial Consolidation system (HFM, Adaptive Planning or similar)
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams skills (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, graphs/charts, etc)
  • Capable of tracing GL transactions and working with large data sets to pull together analysis
  • Ability to analyze results, summarize underlying drivers, and provide clear and succinct interpretation of results
  • Strong attention to detail; quality conscious and self-motivated to identify discrepancies and provide solutions
  • Direct, hands-on experience creating, tracking and controlling actual, forecast and budget metrics
  • Ability to work under pressure, adhering to multiple deadlines
  • Willingness to be hands-on and take an active role with your business partners
  • Broad technical accounting expertise, including good working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to participate in multi-cultural, global operating environment
  • Working with multiple levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Fluent in English

Work Environment:

  • This role is hybrid with travel as required to visit other Cooper sites

Experience:

Minimum 5 years FP&A experience within manufacturing operations. Related experience within accounting function is a plus.

Education:

B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Support the Costa Rica management team with insightful financial analysis to drive site performance
  • Perform month-end close activities to help accurately state inventory and cost of goods sold account activity
  • Generate variance analysis and commentaries for actual versus latest forecast, budget and prior year for MTD, QTD and YTD positions as required
  • Analyze open/closed work orders to understand labor, overhead and material variances and translate it to actionable data through clear and concise communication
  • Support development and execution of the weekly reporting process, monthly financial reviews, quarterly forecast, and annual operating planning process
  • Actively participate in the annual budget and quarterly forecast process through preparation of necessary analysis & reporting. Provide instruction and answer questions relating to budget procedures and serve as liaison between value stream managers and financial management
  • Establish and perform standard cost updates annually. Provide analysis such as year over year impacts and analyze changes to ensure proposed standards are accurate
  • Responsible for accounting related to inventory revaluation and amortization, E&O reserve utilization, warranty reserves, intercompany material movements, cycle count reconciliations, and GRNI
  • Perform regular cycle count audits and work with administrators to drive transaction accuracy to achieve corporate metrics
  • Organize cost accounting functions prior to physical inventory and produce all applicable reports
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives, including measuring/ monitoring cost savings
  • Support the Engineering groups in developing the BOM & routers for new products. Oversee the calculation of material, labor and overhead standard costs of manufactured products.
  • Support all company activities to maintain compliance with US GAAP, local statutory and SOX.
