About This Role
The Environmental Health and Safety Engineer will support the management of the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) system, ensuring compliance with the standards and requirements established by the company.

What You'll Do

• Implement, maintain, and improve EHS programs in compliance with corporate standards and national regulations, ensuring adherence through effective strategies, controls, communication, and training.
• Conduct regular company walkthroughs to proactively identify occupational and environmental risks and verify compliance with EHS programs.
• Manage plant environmental programs and coordinate the Green Team.
• Coordinate EHS self-assessments, internal audits, and environmental regulatory inspections.
• Drive the implementation of actions to reduce or eliminate the top five risks identified in the Risk Mapping.
• Manage the Emergency Response Plan, ensuring proper team formation, training, inspections, and equipment readiness.
• Follow up on accident investigations and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
• Assign and track EHS corrective actions (CAPAs) identified through audits, Gembas, inspections, or government visits.
• Ensure environmental legal compliance related to waste management (permits, SIGREP reporting, destruction certificates).
• Ensure compliance with corporate and legal EHS requirements through adherence to policies and internal procedures.
• Continually improve EHS performance through leadership, engagement, and active participation in EHS initiatives.
• Conduct risk assessments for the facility, new equipment, and infrastructure changes; develop and ensure implementation of controls.
• Support EHS initiatives during key events such as EHS Week and Environment Month.
• Develop and implement ideas through the plant Idea Program and Good Observations.
• Deliver training for special work activities (e.g., Confined Spaces, Hot Work, Hazardous Energy Control).
• Report and update EHS metrics and dashboards for assigned disciplines.
• Ensure EHS plans required by national legislation are kept current.
• Support management of change for facility, product, and process modifications.
• Maintain and update EHS information boards.
• Perform other duties inherent to the role or assigned by management.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety Engineering, Environmental Hygiene, Occupational Health, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in Occupational Health and Environmental management.
• Preferred experience in the medical industry environment and regulated Quality Management Systems (GMP, QSR, FDA, CAPA).
• Experience with ISO Management Systems: ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.
• Advanced computer skills including MS Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project/Visio)
• Spanish: Native Speaker, English: Fluent speaking, writing and reading.
