Our group is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and enabling networking systems deployed on Akamai's security scrubbing network.

Partner with the best

As a Network Operations Engineer Senior II you will join a 24x7 shift-based team. This includes resolving immediate customer impacting issues and lower severity issues. You'll collaborate with cross functional teams to operationalize new security and traffic delivery products. You will also work with team members to improve network operation efficiency.

As a Network Operations Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Providing subject matter expert advice during technical incidents
• Troubleshooting layer 2 and layer 3 VPN performance issues
• Providing technical and product support for customer's experiencing issues
• Developing alerts and dashboards that enable monitoring of network issues
• Developing and maintaining tools, documentation, and procedures to support the operation of a large scale network infrastructure
• Installing, configuring and maintaining routers and switches

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 3-5 years experience in SQL and developing queries to extract data from multiple tables and Bachelor's Degree/ High School Diploma
• Have excellent communication and customer service skills
• Have IP network design, ethernet technologies
• Have experience with Linux/Unix and related tools
• Have experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and Juniper routers and switches
• Have experience with Internet routing protocols and service provider networks (ie. BGP/ISIS/OSPF/MPLS)
