Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Costa Rica.

Our client is the provider of the world's first real-time government analytics software, data, and media company platform.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer with solid experience in test automation and manual testing.

This role is ideal for someone who can take full ownership of the test automation framework from scratch, utilizing Playwright with JavaScript, while also remaining hands-on with manual testing activities.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
• Strong experience writing automated tests using Playwright (JavaScript).
• Proven experience building automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with manual testing, bug tracking, and test management tools.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD and integrating test automation into continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Nice to have:

• Experience testing APIs (e.g., Postman or similar).
• Knowledge of performance or security testing tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain a scalable automation framework using Playwright (JavaScript).
• Define and implement the testing strategy for both manual and automated tests.
• Execute manual test cases for complex scenarios and exploratory testing.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure product quality.
• Identify, log, and track bugs, and provide clear documentation.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test reports.
