Job Summary:
The Sr. General Accountant responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
**Responsibilities**:
- Analyze deeply monthly balance sheet account variances to report results to 3M Corporate.
- Examine and interpret account records, compile financial information, and reconcile balance sheet and cash accounts to correct discrepancies and open balances.
- Perform strong and complex process analysis and communicate recommendations to management.
- Conduct thorough review of departmental monthly spending, analyze, and calculate month-end-close accruals for temporary labors and utilities (electricity, gas) for 3M manufacturing plants.
- Prepare, Review and Approve journal entries, perform accounting corrections, and trend analysis to ensure accurate records.
- Prepare and analyze daily cash position reports working with Bank of America and JP Morgan.
- Manage the Construction in Progress account. Responsible for AFE capitalizations, closing and expensing projects and new assets creation.
- Manage monthly depreciation and AFD calculation and processing.
- Reconcile, Review and Approve Balance Sheet Accounts
- Calculate and prepare monthly accruals, accounting adjustments, prepaids and any other type of accounting record.
- Reconcile intercompany receivables and payables accounts, bank accounts such as lockbox and disbursements, PP&E and depreciation, Intangibles and amortization and trade receivables and payables accounts.
Required Qualifications
o +4 years of continuous experience in Accounting (GeneralLedger)
o Bacherlor’s degree (completed) in Finance or Accounting
o Fluent English (B2+)
o Experience in Transition of processes from outside countries
o Knowledge proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point)
o Excellent communication skills
o Experience working with SAP
