**Objective**

The Field Access Lead is a Manager level role within AstraZeneca, reporting directly to the Market Access Director. The Field Access Lead is primarily responsible for the development and execution of the market access strategy ensuring patient access to our medicines within CAMCAR. In developing and executing the market access strategy, the Field Access Lead must demonstrate outstanding strategic thinking, cross functional collaboration and innovative approaches to a diverse and increasingly evolving payor landscape.

The Field Access Lead will have to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the brands, therapeutic areas, healthcare systems, key accounts and payor landscape, leveraging this knowledge and experience to influence diverse opinions and build and execute a strategy that meets the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders. To do this the Field Access Lead will develop close collaboration with cross-functional colleagues and will implement the market access strategy through the Field Access Managers.

**TYPICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Develop strategic and compelling market access strategy aligned with brand strategy
- Deliver clear, customer-focused IVS and other core value materials (Pricing policy, Value Pack, Contracting Toolkit, Market Access Launch Strategy)
- Collaborate with strategic and key markets to localize value materials, particularly the messaging in local pricing/reimbursement/inclusion dossiers/protocol updates
- Champion the payer perspective and drive it into brand strategy and implementation
- Serve as Market Access representative in cross-functional teams, championing payer requirements and incorporating evidence needs within product development strategies
- Develop payer communication and engagement plans
- Lead patient access programs process (development, approval, implementation and follow-up) aligned to local business needs.
- Support the implementation of early access programs for AZ products, in collaboration with the cross-functional teams.
- Support cross-functional key business processes as: AZ financial and brand strategic planning processes
- 100% Compliance with policies & procedures and with the Code of Ethics of AstraZeneca.
- Participate and contribute to various project teams and participate in special projects.
- Collaborate with GAMA cross-functional areas to achieve business objectives (HEOR, PAGs/ONS, Comms, Government Affairs)
**Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Graduate / College degree in biomedical science, business, economic´s or political sciences/public policy (essential)
- Postgraduate qualification in biomedical science, business administration, finance, or economics
- Payer, HTA, public health, or health policy experience
- Understanding of the drivers of commercial success and the interplay between payer customers and HCP customers.
- Understanding of the needs and expectations of national and regional payers, insurers, and commercial customers in our strategic markets
- Solid understanding and knowledge of the development process for new molecules to influence development strategies in order to meet the requirements of payers
- Knowledge of how different factors drive payer decision making at country level
- Experience in a commercial strategy function and/or customer facing with payers
- Track record of delivery in the payer area, or in a commercial function either in terms of strategy or in influencing payer decision making
- Relevant drug development and/or commercialization experience within the pharmaceutical/medical industry
- Experience working with clinicians, pharmacists and payers on evidence-based customer solutions
- Experience constructing payer value stories and incorporating these into TPPs and development programs
- Experience in communicating and negotiating product listing/reimbursement agreements with national, regional and/or local payers.
- Ability to anticipate future external payer environment requirements, thinking broadly across multiple geographies, and focus teams on key business drivers
- Leadership skills and problem-solving capability as demonstrated by the ability to evaluate threats and opportunities for payers and plan for appropriate evidence generation and access strategies
- Leadership, influencing, advocacy, and negotiation skills at senior level
- Demonstrable skill in interactive communication, including the ability to effectively challenge conceptual thinking as necessary
- Collaborates with technical skill experts and cross-functional teams to gain insight and commitment to operational plans
- Must be able to exercise strict confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
- Advanced level of English.
- Ability to excel in a rapidly evolving and dynamic landscape. Comfortable with change and ambiguity at times.
