**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**

This role is responsible for managing the Record to Report Corporate effectiveness, efficiency, and high-quality service delivery to GBS Costa Rica business partners, as well as maintaining good governance and a robust control environment within the service line.

It leads the development of a strong corporate finance team, responsible for managing all related accounting and taxes activities. The role also supports GBS Costa Rica Heads of Finance and End Markets key partners by providing critical analysis and insights to create positive impact at a strategical level.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**
- Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger/Accounting entries, ensuring compliance with the internal month end close calendar and Group reporting deadlines, as well as external parties cut-off times where applicable (i.e. Taxes and Pension).
- Promote the standardisation, automation and simplification of processes that fall within or are on the boundaries of the accounting area.
- Supervise and manage operational performance in line with set operational key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify and actively pursue Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities to increase the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
- Drive effective management of all relevant initiatives’ portfolio, supervising implementation progress against the plan and ensure action plans in place to mitigate identified risks.
- Exhibit leadership when engaging with key partners through behaviours and attitudes which are in line with the BAT Standards of Business Conduct (SoBC) and BAT Values to support, encourage and drive a positive working culture.
- Drive positive business partnering culture within the team, promoting diversity and inclusion with internal and external partners.
- Communicate effectively via all channels. Able to tailor messages to various stakeholder groups with mínimal inputs/edits.

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting in a multinational/multicultural corporation (FMCG or Shared Services Centre).
- Professional Accounting Certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA, CGMA).
- Functional expertise in the areas of Transactional Finance, Accounting and Taxes (knowledge of Pension Accounting is a plus).
- Excellent knowledge of Accounting/Reporting Standards (US GAAP / IFRS).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Level C).
- High proficiency and detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office.

**BENEFICIAL**
- Previous experience in Global Shared Service, in Records to Report (R2R) space is highly desirable.
- SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
- Proven competence in project management techniques (AGILE, PRINCE2) and Lean Six Sigma (LSS).
- Experience in continuous improvement projects is a plus.
