VMware is seeking a **Director** in the Product and Cloud Services (PCS) Central FP&A team. As an integral member of the finance leadership team, your overarching responsibility is to shape and develop our Costa Rica site strategy. **Success in role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?**
- You will become familiar with the FP&A role within the PCS Finance team.
- You will become familiar with all the Costa Rica managers and analysts supporting PCS Finance.
- You will work closely and establish business partnership with our Controllers and business partners.
- You will have a deep understanding of the work products produced by the Costa Rica finance team.
- You will facilitate and train the team in providing and communicating critical insights to the leadership team.
- You will contribute to the continuous improvement in finance process and initiatives.
- Learn the products and services that VMware offers.
**The work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?**

We are looking for a finance leader who will be the site leader for the PCS Finance Costa Rica Team. We want someone who has experience shaping the culture as well as leading, developing, and managing large teams in a technology company. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work and effectively communicate with partners, technical and otherwise, in Costa Rica and the US, is key to success. We are looking for someone who has high energy and brings passion and excitement to develop our Costa Rica team.

Your regular activities may be modified to suit your professional strength, but you can expect a variety of the following assignments:

- Lead PCS Finance Costa Rica team in all things related to culture, career development, skills development, and site development.
- Manage 7 direct reports with 6 dotted line reports.
- Engage closely with the PCS Finance Central FP&A and Office of the CTO (OCTO) finance team and support on major spend related activities.
- Engage and align all Costa Rica Team members on Forecast, Replan, Annual/Bi-annual/Quarterly Planning, and Long Range Planning processes.
- Enable team to be more efficient through streamlining tasks and automation.
- Collaborate with and assist Controllers to enhance Costa Rica’s contribution to the company. Share best practices, identify gaps, lead change, and help determine priorities.
- Participate in PCS Finance wide initiatives to drive process improvement to scale for growth and create positive impacts across the Product Cloud and Services organization and VMware Finance.
- Develop strong operational knowledge on the critical systems like Hyperion, Essbase & SAP, PowerBI, Tableau.
**What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?**

The hiring manager for his role is **Calona Paiko**, **Sr. Finance Director**. Calona has worked in VMware for the past 4 years leading the Central and OCTO FP&A teams.

The PCS Finance Central FP&A team is a highly regarded team within the Product and Cloud Services (PCS) finance organization (~100+ members in US/Costa Rica). We work closely with all Finance Controllers and their finance teams within PCS Finance. Our overall mission is to provide trusted and insightful financial information to enable the executive leadership team to make effective decisions in maximizing VMware’s performance. We also have a strong focus to enhance the quality, efficiency, and scale of financial information produced, through process improvements, financial tools, and automation.

**Where is the role located?**

America Free Zone, Heredia, Costa Rica.

The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and from a remote location, depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
