Complete, with assistance, the procedures for their accounting areas or entities, including communications with the lines of business, reviewing transactions, identifying accounting changes, coordinating with accounting teams, JVs, affiliates, or accounting firms, and ensuring timeliness of deliverables.
- Participate in integration of acquisitions into Moody’s systems and processes. Identify non-compliance with US GAAP for these acquisitions
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 for all customer contracts
- Answer questions from Legal and Sales related to draft orders with the potential revenue recognition implications
- Prepare and record monthly J/E’s in SAP to recognize revenue
- Ensure compliance of the Revenue Recognition process with Sarbanes Oxley
- Use analytical skills and findings to make recommendations on process improvements, and automation using Alteryx and Power BI
- Work with other Moody’s division and provide support and feedback for revenue recognition related questions
- Work with FP&A in order to update them on forecasted revenue changes and upcoming arrangements and the effect on revenue recognition
- CPA or equivalent qualification
- 2-5 years working with within a Finance / Accounting environment
- Previous experience with multi-national software revenue recognition or Big 4 accounting firm experience a distinct advantage
- Ability to understand legal contracts and resolve accurate revenue recognition
- Experience with accounting practices and knowledge of accounting rules and regulations faced by public software companies, including revenue recognition
- Excellent verbal communication, presentation and listening skills, and the ability to interact expertly with a range of staff and executives are required
