Under the direction of the Tax Supervisor and Manager, this position will support federal, state, and local tax compliance across all World Fuel Services, Inc entities. This includes the payments for all related liabilities and maintenance of tax related records.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual fuel excise, sales & use tax, and VAT returns.
- Reconciliation of tax liability accounts.
- Maintenance of tax exemption and tax rule database.
- Perform tax research as needed to ensure tax implications are in accordance with state filing requirements.
- Utilizes Avalara software for EDI reporting to various jurisdictions.
- Maintains detailed communication regarding tax notices received.
- Answers motor vehicle tax and sales tax questions by researching and interpreting state communications.
- Ensures all compliance requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in State audits resolution for indirect motor fuel tax and sales tax.
- Assist and mentor entry level accountants in tax law research and applicability.
- Assist with implementations of process improvement initiatives.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in accounting or finance.
- Advanced English level (B2/C1)
- Effective communicator: Ability to work with internal customers and outside taxing authorities. Excellent communication skills verbal and written to interpret motor fuel tax law and explain proper scenarios to state and or jurisdictions
- Five years of Fuel Excise tax experience or more preferred
- Five years of Sales and Use Tax and/or VAT reporting required
- Advanced knowledge in excel, lookups, pivots, formulas.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and organization skills.
- Works well under filing deadlines while meeting all assignments.
