Job Overview

The Oracle Financials Consultant plays a crucial role in a Global DevOps setting, tasked with designing and implementing technical configuration solutions for various Change Requests across Global Corporate Systems & Services (GCSS) related to Oracle Financials modules. This position demands timely delivery of projects and change requests, adhering to budget constraints and maintaining high-quality standards through participation in design evaluations, code deployments, and system testing. The consultant will also manage incident tickets related to PRODUCTION issues, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA) while addressing incident triage and resolution within Oracle Financials modules. A balanced involvement in both functional and technical aspects is essential for this role.

Functional Duties

Deliver functional design and configuration solutions that align with Experian's global business processes. Assist in the development and enhancement of Experian's global business processes. Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of global business processes and pinpoint opportunities for continuous improvement. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Global Process Owners (GPOs), and business users to gather business requirements and provide effective solutions. Implement changes across the following Oracle modules –

Procure-to-Pay (P2P)

Accounts Payable E-Business Tax iExpense iPayment iSupplier Procurement and iProcurement (including Supplier Punchout) Purchasing

Order-to-Cash (O2C)

Accounts Receivable Advanced Collections iReceivables Service Contracts

Record-to-Report (R2R)

Cash Management Fixed Assets General Ledger Subledger Accounting Advanced Global Intercompany System (AGIS) Create configuration guides (BR100), business requirements (RD50), functional designs (MD50), conversion documents (CV40), test scripts, and training manuals. Conduct impact assessments for changes such as patches, scripts, data fixes, and change requests. Identify and propose technical and functional process enhancements. Develop comprehensive test plans for patches, fixes, and change requests to ensure thoroughness and relevance.

Technical Duties

Deliver technical RICEW components that adhere to Experian's custom build standards, meet user expectations, and perform within established benchmarks and global processes. Prepare technical design (MD70), conversion (CV60), deployment (MD120) documentation, and unit test scripts. Oversee the deployment and release of technical changes across all environments (DEV to PRODUCTION). Foster effective communication with peers within and across teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of ongoing projects and share common RICEW objects. Provide support for PRODUCTION issues, assisting in research and development, problem-solving, and knowledge sharing to enhance service levels. Conduct code reviews for change requests delivered by technical team members.

Process Duties

Operate within a global DevOps framework, delivering Change Requests (CR) and resolving PRODUCTION incidents simultaneously. Adhere to either traditional waterfall methodologies or agile methodologies (e.g., scrum, Kanban) for project delivery based on business needs. Provide peer approval for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and PRODUCTION deployment for CRs delivered by the team. Follow global processes for incident triage and resolution (i.e., follow-the-sun model). Contribute positively to regular team meetings to enhance application quality and improve team knowledge and expertise. Work independently with minimal supervision to complete project-support tasks. Engage in self-learning and apply knowledge to address day-to-day challenges, sharing insights with peers to maintain the GCSS ERP knowledge base.

Qualifications

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Management Information Systems (MIS), or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 years of IT development experience in large Oracle implementations or support environments, with a preference for Oracle ERP. Strong experience in creating, maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing PL-SQL programs. Experience with Oracle Applications R12 development is preferred but not mandatory. Hands-on experience with Oracle Application Framework (OAF), including the ability to create, extend, and deploy OA framework pages, as well as personalize Core and OAF pages, is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Oracle Forms, Reports, and BI Publisher tools. Knowledge of Java, J2EE, HTML, JavaScript, and Python is preferred but not required. Experience with data loader tools. Proficiency in Unix Shell scripting. Experience with version control and code promotion tools (e.g., BitBucket, Jenkins) is preferred but not required. Familiarity with incident and change tracking software (e.g., ServiceNow) is preferred but not required. Proficient in English. Excellent analytical skills. A collaborative team player capable of working in complex, cross-functional, and geographically diverse teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A solid understanding of statutory and regulatory reporting and process requirements. Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively.
