Design Manager Job Overview

At Gensler, we are seeking a skilled Design Manager to join our team. As a key member of our architectural practice, this role will oversee the coordination of multiple projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery. Key responsibilities include managing project schedules, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and maintaining communication across teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture, excellent project management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project coordination, ensuring timely completion within budget and scope.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, designers, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, resource allocation plans, and budgets.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain open communication across teams, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Resolve conflicts and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance project delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior team members.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in architectural project management, including demonstrated success as a project manager on multiple projects.
  • Strong background in architecture, building codes, and construction practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in REVIT, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office.
