Job Summary

The Banquet Sales Manager is responsible for contracting and closing local catering and social business, ensuring timely and quality service delivery. This role involves achieving catering revenue goals by up-selling business opportunities to maximize revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage sales efforts for the hotel, including local corporate and social catering.
  • Collaborate with off-property sales channels to ensure coordinated sales efforts.
  • Respond to incoming catering opportunities and identify, qualify, and solicit new business to achieve revenue goals.
  • Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
  • Design and sell creative catered events, maximizing revenue through up-selling packages and food and beverage options.
  • Manage catering sales revenue and operation budgets, providing forecasting reports and developing menus to drive sales.
  • Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked, including generating proposals, writing contracts, and customer correspondence.
  • Monitor the effective resolution of guest issues and ensure successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses, and providing a return on investment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related field.
  • Or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required.
