Design Manager Role

About the Position:

Gensler is seeking a highly versatile Design Manager to lead architectural projects from concept to completion. As a key member of our team, you will oversee project schedules and budgets while providing technical guidance and innovative solutions to complex design challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of projects, including setup, design, and construction drawings.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to set up project schedules and budgets.
  • Provide technical expertise and creative problem-solving to resolve complex technical and design issues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of building codes and zoning regulations to advise clients and the team.
  • Negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding, and conduct site visits during construction.
  • Monitor project financial performance and track expenses.
  • Collaborate with project architects, interior designers, and job captains to deliver high-quality designs.
  • Solve complex technical and design problems during document preparation and construction administration.
  • Manage a diverse range of project teams, ensuring accurate documentation and coordination.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture.
  • 8+ years of experience as a project manager in architectural practice, with demonstrated success on various mixed-use buildings and residential or retail centers.
  • Proficiency in REVIT, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office.
  • Leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Able to handle difficult situations with tact and emotional intelligence.
  • Experience with construction documentation and/or design detail development.
  • Familiarity with the entire project lifecycle through post-occupancy.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer an estimated salary of $120,000 per year, reflecting our commitment to competitive compensation and employee satisfaction.
