Architect - Senior Designer

Your Role

As an Architect at Gensler, you will be responsible for actively participating in all phases of the design process. You will need to balance innovative thinking with the ability to present real-world technical solutions to new design challenges. You must thrive in a personal responsibility and accountability environment while embodying open communication and team-oriented success.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and delivery of architectural and/or technical aspects of a project
• Possess knowledge of architectural design principles, technical details, codes, and material characteristics
• Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction
• Prepare and ensure accuracy of technical documents
• Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
• Produce architectural drawings
• Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
• Other assigned responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor of Architecture or foreign equivalent
• Licensed or registered architect
• 5 years of project experience in an architectural practice
• 100% bilingual English/Spanish, well-written with excellent verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in REVIT, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office
• Additional software skills in AutoCAD, 3D Max, Illustrator, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Autodesk Certified are a plus
• Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
• Strong leadership, communications, and relationship management skills
• Construction documentation and/or design detail development experience
• Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, grace, and emotional intelligence
• Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on various project types
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships
