About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Cyber Security Crisis Manager to join our team. In this critical role, you will serve as a delegate to the IBM Cloud Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), overseeing cyber incidents in collaboration with IBM CSIRT, Legal, and other security teams.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing final approvals for Root Cause Analysis performed post-incident and ensuring preventative actions are taken by responsible parties.
  2. Serving as a point of contact regarding security investigations performed by other business units within IBM utilizing the IBM Cloud Platform.
  3. Working an on-call rotation to perform various duties relating to cyber incidents during non-standard business hours.
  4. Investigating and enforcing security policy violations, providing guidance as needed.
  5. Collaborating with the corporate SOC team responsible for first-line monitoring and incident response of IBM Cloud assets.
  6. Coordinating with the corporate threat hunting team on tactical and strategic threat hunts affecting IBM Cloud.
  7. Developing and maintaining processes, procedures, runbooks, and workflows utilized in the various job duties.
  8. Contributing to security-related projects, including gap analysis, rule tuning, vulnerability burndown, and more.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant information security or incident response roles, with a focus on incident response.
  2. Management/Leadership experience in previous roles.
  3. A high school diploma and an industry-recognized security certification, such as Security+, CySA+, CASP+, Pentest+, CEH, GCIA, GCIH, CISSP, CCSP, or OSCP.
  4. The ability to understand and convey highly technical cyber incidents to non-technical personnel.
  5. The ability to manage a cyber incident through its entire lifecycle.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome applicants with experience in:

  • IBM Cloud or comparable Cloud Service Provider certifications.
  • QRadar SIEM, QRadar SOAR (Resilient), Cortex XSOAR (Demisto) or similar SIEM/SOAR tools.
  • EDR tools, such as CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, Microsoft Defender ATP.
  • Splunk, Kibana, Palo Alto, Kentik, JIRA, Confluence, Amplitude, or PagerDuty.
  • Virtualization and container technologies.
  • Programming, scripting, and automating repetitive tasks.
  • Fundamental system administration skills for Windows and Linux.
