As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising and guiding Facilities Technicians to ensure the proper operation of all buildings and cleanrooms in our Costa Rica location.

The ideal candidate will actively participate in achieving the goals and objectives of the department and the plant, analyzing and resolving operational excursions, NCEs, CAPAs, and other exceptions documents in the department.

This role will also involve managing contractors and consultants, leading projects, and implementing them.

Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring the operability of life/safety systems at all times, including sprinkler systems, smoke and fire detection systems, fire extinguishers, signage, and evacuation plans, as well as fire prevention.

The selected candidate will be a model for our EHS program implementation in all activities.

Furthermore, you will establish indicators of facilities equipment operation with the Facilities/Maintenance Manager and follow up on the results.

You will also analyze, propose, and implement plans to continuously improve the operation of facilities equipment.

Other responsibilities include developing and finding new suppliers and contractors to support facilities and manufacturing equipment operation.

Project management responsibilities for assigned maintenance changes or new product launches are also part of this role.

You will maintain good relationships with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain people to provide fluency in business processes.

The ideal candidate will also recommend new tools and methodologies, including costing and cost estimates for design or product process changes.

Technical documentation will be developed or revised to specify maintenance and facilities processes, including documentation of equipment qualification, setup, and maintenance procedures.

Conducting research and development testing and validation to determine the effectiveness and compliance to quality standards for manufacturing processes is also essential.

Reports will be prepared on these activities.

Negotiating and placing orders with vendors, maintaining positive relationships, and focusing on problem-solving with vendors are also key responsibilities.

Finally, you will be part of a development process by attending conferences, taking courses, and continuing education programs to maintain or improve knowledge and practices relevant to medical device manufacturing.

- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering.

- At least 3 years of experience as a Facilities Engineer, with a plus in a medical company.

- Intermediate-level English.

- Problem-solving preparation.
