Job Description:
This position requires a skilled Logistics Engineer who can design, implement, and maintain efficient systems for the transportation and storage of goods.
The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing transportation routes, designing warehouse layouts, and selecting equipment and materials handling systems.
The focus of this role will be on supporting our Advanced Materials divisions for the Americas region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of logistics operations.
- Manage relationships with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) to negotiate rates and services.
- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve issues related to external warehouses and LSPs.
- Implement changes to improve on-time shipment performance and SLA compliance.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to recommend process improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing company.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
