Job Description:

The Senior Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting central accounting, finance operation, and Global financial teams by ensuring timely completion of month-end activities and proper review of account balances for Amazon. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing monthly/quarterly/annually reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and providing response to internal and external audit requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end activities, reporting, and balance sheet account analysis
  • Ensure proper review of account balances for Amazon and highlight issues accordingly
  • Develop and maintain appropriate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure their effective operation
  • Provide response to internal and external audit requirements and ensure compliance with Sox requirements for all geographies/activities
  • Resolve complex accounting issues and implement process controls to drive efficiency and quality improvements
  • Maintain regular communications and metrics reporting at Director and VP level business partners, in finance operations, central accounting, and FOAA
  • Actively participate in strategic initiatives and special projects when assigned or required

Requirements and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you'll need strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills. Experience using Oracle Financial Applications and a zeal for operational excellence/process improvement are also highly valued.
