Job Description:

Experian Global Finance Services (GFS) is undergoing a transformative period, driven by process improvement and automation to enhance productivity and best practices in finance. We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a Revenue Recognition Team Lead in our San Jose, Costa Rica location. As a key member of our Global Finance Services team, you will play a crucial role in leading the Revenue Recognition process in line with IFRS 15 requirements and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure full compliance of Experian's Revenue Recognition policy and apply IFRS 15 when necessary.
  2. Oversee a small team of direct reports and provide timely reports of Revenue Recognition reconciliations to all stakeholders.
  3. Complete the month-end checklist in detail, seek constant process improvements, and provide relevant metrics such as disclosures, project profitability, billing schedule, deferred revenue, and accrued sales.
  4. Advise the business when signing new contracts, document all processes, and maintain an updated Business Continuity Plan.
  5. Preach best practices to all parties involved, maintain regular meetings with key stakeholders, and maintain current process documentation.
  6. Avoid challenges by enforcing Revenue Recognition policy and protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Requirements:

  • Advanced English level.
  • Advanced knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15 and IFRS 9.
  • Previous experience in Project management and in multi-currency environments.
  • Ability to lead change across the organisation and within the GFS, both on systems and processes.
  • Experience of working in fast-paced, results-driven roles within complex organisations.
  • Ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands, demonstrating accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
  • Experience of working in a multinational/global organisation.
  • Senior stakeholder exposure.
  • Experienced in handling sensitive issues/situations and cultural differences.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Finance background or qualification.
  • Exposure to Finance Shared Services, ideally international.
