San Francisco, Heredia, Costa Rica Stryker A tiempo completo

About the Role

This position plays a vital part in achieving our objectives by overseeing the release process.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling the movement of enhancement releases to our global technical environments.

The goal is to deliver these releases with minimal cross-functional impact while adding value to business processes through system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead an organized and standardized approach to successfully updating or implementing enhancements to our systems through release cycles.
  • In collaboration with functional release managers, prioritize and schedule enhancements for releases according to business value and financial constraints.
  • Employ project management principles to release management, guiding teams through the process and enabling swift and efficient scheduled releases to our global technical landscape.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with internal and external cross-functional stakeholders, including business partners, business analyst release managers, delivery release managers, and portfolio managers.
  • Own and maintain the release calendar for major releases.
  • Own the release management process, which includes procedures, compliance to procedures, and representing the process in audits.
  • Track enhancements as they progress throughout the release management lifecycle.
  • Track and report on release management metrics, considering key performance indicators, operating expectations, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Rely on data to accurately report financial performance that can inform action and decision-making.
  • Track and reconcile actual financial outcomes against projections to inform go-forward forecast refinement.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to release management against portfolio constraints with stakeholders.
  • Ensure the release resource plan is aligned to inform portfolio forecast/capitalization projections.
  • Manage release financials, including forecasted spend for demand. Cost management extends the lifecycle of the release process and includes tracking of forecasted, projected, and actuals for internal resource time and external spend.
  • Report progress of releases to management, emphasizing business objectives delivery, efficient resource deployment, effective risk and issue management, portfolio volatility regarding scope and quality changes, and process improvements.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and recommend strategic steps to capitalize on opportunities that will have a significant effect on profit and/or operational effectiveness for the organization.
  • Monitor release health and financial status against relevant constraints and guide and support project teams to mitigate any risks or issues identified.
  • Gain stakeholder trust and maintain open communication channels with stakeholders, including development teams and sponsors.
  • Stay calm under pressure timelines and seek to add additional responsibility where appropriate to have an impact outside of core role responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated: enjoy tackling goals, growing, and developing, and are accountable for goals being met.
  • Consistently drive results.
  • Effective communicator and presenter: understand how to engage diverse audiences, adjust as needed, and check for understanding along the way.
  • Understand the importance of networking and utilizing that network to improve individual job performance.
  • Actively seek to understand how goals fit into broader organizational goals.
  • Work to build customer-centric solutions that are flexible as needs change and incorporate customer feedback quickly.
  • Can consolidate large amounts of data, pinpoint valuable information free of personal bias, and make timely and durable decisions.
  • Understand when to take risk and when to escalate, evaluating issues based on parts, patterns, and relationships.
  • Are able to pressure-test ideas and share conclusions with a broader audience in a concise manner.
  • Exercise good judgment regarding when and how to escalate issues.
  • Growth mindset - learn from previous mistakes and pick up new skills quickly.
  • Identify and evangelize process improvement opportunities for release, process, and financial management.
  • Experience in demand and project planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting.
  • Experience in system environment air traffic control.
