A Day in the Life of an Import/Export Analyst

This role is responsible for performing various import/export duties, processing papers necessary to facilitate shipments between international locations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering the efficient and economical movement of goods in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Preparing, reviewing, approving, and maintaining files for import/export documents required for the lawful completion of import/export activities.
  • Serving as an import/export liaison for international customers/subsidiaries, distribution, procurement, planning, manufacturing, intercompany finance, regulatory, and import/export compliance functions.
  • Planning, scheduling, and routing imports and exports, including monitoring the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, ensuring related customer service, brokerage, and customs transaction compliance.

Must-Have Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3+ years relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication English skills with proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate with business stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP (Oracle, SAP, etc.) and medical device or regulated industry experience.
