Job Description

The Human Resource Generalist will assist in the daily functions of SchoolMint's Human Resources (HR) department. This includes assisting in recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes, providing support to employees, administering benefits, and enforcing company policies and practices.

The HR Generalist will be expected to demonstrate professionalism, ownership of tasks, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
  • Daily communication with the Costa Rica Team, answering questions regarding benefits, assets, coworking space, events, orientation, systems, etc.
  • Planning all coworking meetups for 2 locations, in an organized and timely manner.
  • Communicating details well in advance so that employees are aware.
  • Keeps a record/tally of all employees attending meetings and orders items accordingly based on the expected number of attendees.
  • Planning monthly lunches for 2 locations (San José and San Carlos)
  • Arranging local events to aid in reinforcing company culture: holiday parties, holiday gifts, anniversary parties, etc.
  • Planning bi-yearly presentations on benefits and uploading necessary documents on Bamboo as well as preparing summary documents.
  • Providing weekly documentation to employees when requested: salary verification letters, work verification letters, etc.
  • Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
Company-Wide Responsibilities:
  • Spearheaded the creation, design, collaborations, and distribution of the company's quarterly newsletter.
  • Planning, gathering information, and leading the monthly celebration event for birthdays and anniversaries.
  • Actively assists with US Orientations in collaboration with the HR Manager.
  • Reviewing 30 & 60-day surveys on Paylocity and flagging any potential issues to the HR Manager.
  • Flagging anything neutral or less.
  • Scheduling 90-day check-ins for all new hires
  • Entering change requests on Paylocity: title changes, promotions, reporting structure.
  • All but salary changes and terminations.
  • Assist with Enrollhand support.
  • Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or Business related field required.
  • Experience managing matrixed organization structures with virtual teams and working with a diverse workforce required.
  • Microsoft Office skills including Word (Intermediate), Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint (intermediate), and Outlook (Basic).
  • Intermediate English (B2), verbal and written.
