Purchasing Professional Job Description: At World Fuel Services, we are looking for a skilled Associate Purchasing Specialist to join our Central Procurement Office (CPO). As a key member of the Global Procurement team, you will be responsible for supporting the Procure-to-Pay process. Your primary duties will involve creating Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders, communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and ensuring the accuracy of PO-related invoice payments.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders for assigned geographies/purchasing categories.
  • Establish effective communication channels with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless Purchase Order execution.
  • Validate PO-related invoice payments and create receipts as needed.
  • Follow up on Blanket Purchase Order fulfillment, adhering to Category Owner instructions.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve PO invoice holds and facilitate timely supplier payments.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of open Purchase Orders and monitor your own aging PO backlog.
  • Regularly update the Procurement Program Manager on procurement activity progress.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks as necessary.
