Accounting Assistant I: Financial Shared Services Expert

**Financial Shared Services Role:**

The position is a key member of the Financial Shared Services RTR Accounting team, responsible for performing and supporting cash applications and general accounting tasks.

Preparation of intermediate/low complexity journal entries and inputs in the ERP system, along with supporting documentation for the entire GL process from the beginning of the month until final delivery of financial statements to corporate.

**Responsibilities Include:**

  • Following defined processes for short-payments, overpayments, and disputes, escalating as necessary to Credit and Collections for review
  • Maintaining control of H.B. Fuller bank account reports for different countries, generating daily reports
  • Processing write-offs according to defined processes and approvals
  • Assisting Credit and Collections with questions regarding fund application and process corrections
  • Researching and resolving Accounts Receivable issues through partnership with internal partners, including Credit and Collections, General Ledger, and Account Payable
  • Month-end account reconciliation with the Accounting module (G/L) and Account Receivable module
  • Completing monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for banking, prepayments, and Intercompany
  • Evaluating and reviewing the Balance Sheet report to ensure accuracy, verifying any important differences according to GL policies and SOx requirements
  • Executing US GAAP reports for each country or SJO Shared Service Organization demands
  • Preparing/updating/create KPIs according to GL requirements, ensuring no open items older than accounting policy specifications and correct follow-up to close open items if necessary
  • Supporting LA Audit processes (Internal & External) information demands
  • Supporting the resolution of issues/concerns within reconciliations and accounting processes
  • Actively supporting the implementation of best practices within the department
  • Performing process documentation for transitioned and existing work to ensure sufficient documentation for business continuity objectives
  • Working in compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP methods
  • Collaborating with managers to support and develop initiatives to manage the business
  • Performing journal entries as required, ensuring proper approval is acquired

**Requirements:**

  • 0-2 years of accounting/financial-related experience
  • Technical degree or Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work accurately and timely
  • Financial system experience; Totvs/SAP is considered a plus
  • Beginning-Intermediate English level; Beginning-Intermediate Portuguese is considered a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relational skills with multiple levels of management
  • Proactivity, willingness to learn, dynamic attitude, responsibility, teamwork
