Your Role and Responsibilities
- As our Occupational Health and Safety Manager, you'll be the local expert on all things H&S, serving as the primary point of contact for managers and employees alike.
- You'll assist in compliance reviews, risk assessments, and safety audits to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including CHS logs and reports.
- Collaborate with facility management to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare and present relevant CHS training programs to promote a culture of safety.
- Conduct ergonomics evaluations and recommend specialized equipment to improve employee comfort and productivity.
- Buy and maintain ergonomic equipment, ensuring it meets our high standards.
- Participate in incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement effective HSE programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks.
- Perform quarterly facility inspections, creating action plans to address any issues identified.
- Enforce compliance with regulatory requirements, including company CIHS policies and procedures.
- Oversee hazardous waste storage and disposal, ensuring proper labeling, containment, and documentation.
- Manage the Emergency Response team, developing and implementing emergency response plans.
- Administer and maintain insurance programs, reporting to vendors as needed.
- Oversee Behavior-Based Observation Safety Programs, helping to create a culture of accountability.
- Assist in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to identify potential hazards.
- Ensure fall protection equipment is properly maintained and inspected regularly.
- Manage Safety Incentive Programs, recognizing and rewarding employees who demonstrate safe behavior.
- Support compliance programs, performing additional duties as assigned by the CHS manager.
- Promote overall well-being through health-related initiatives and programs.
- Develop and implement employee communication strategies to foster awareness of health and safety topics.
- Manage external providers of mental health support services.
- Take care of administrative tasks related to health promotion activities.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health or Safety Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in direct environmental, industrial hygiene, occupational health, and safety, including leadership roles.
- Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and collaborative skills.
- Computer savvy in Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of Behavior-Based Safety and ISO 45001 certification.
- Intermediate/Advanced English level.
