Data Apps Team Overview

The Data Apps Domain is comprised of Sales Specialists, Solution Specialists, Solution Delivery Teams, Customer Success Managers, Industry Practice Leads, Marketing, and more, all dedicated to supporting clients' use of the Data Apps solution suite.

Data Solutions Overview

The Data Apps Solutions include both data and workflow automation tools, leveraging Moody's Analytics Orbis Global Data and North American Trade Credit Data. Orbis is the world's largest entity dataset, with information on over 400 million entities, including specialty North American Trade Credit datasets, tracking over $2.5 trillion in B2B transactions and growing.

Role Overview

This role will support our Strategic Corporate Relationship Managers in developing existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities within a set of accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with sales colleagues and other internal stakeholders to drive the sales process for a defined set of products or services.
  • Identifying and qualifying prospects, initiating new sales activity, and managing sales cycles to closure.
  • Assessing client needs and providing clients with strategic guidance and product overviews.
  • Building and executing on sales strategies to meet or exceed annual sales goals and targets that align with the company's vision and objectives.
  • Providing current forecasts and pipeline information to management.
  • Leading the development of business within assigned territories.
  • Partnering with Solution Specialists to develop clear, concise proposals and deliver targeted prospect/client demos that address business needs.
  • Collaborating with Product Management and Product Strategy to promote improvement in product quality and the development of new sources of revenue.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients by identifying gaps, gaining an understanding of the specific issues facing the client based on their business requirements, and recommending solutions leveraging market and technical knowledge.
  • Acting as the market expert and providing product/service use cases during the sales cycle.
  • Coordinating Moody's Analytics responses to requests for product and services information from prospects and clients.
  • Representing the company at industry and company-sponsored events, as required.
  • Serving as functional and market expert to resolve client issues through the use of interpersonal skills.
  • Assisting in the preparation and circulation of market insight to create awareness of Moody's expertise internally and externally.
  • Collaborating with and assisting in the training of new team members.
  • This position requires travel (approximately 30% to 40% of your time).

Qualifications and Requirements

  • An undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree) required, with coursework in business, economics, finance, marketing, or related fields.
  • 5-7+ years' experience working in direct business-to-business sales roles, leading complex sales cycles to successful conclusions through the use of consultative selling techniques.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence data /the global data market, and/or understanding of how organizations use data within business functions such as Master Data, Sales/Marketing, Supply Chain, and Credit.
  • Demonstrated success of building relationships with senior-level decision-makers and selling into large complex organizations.
  • Results-oriented, self-starter who can effectively interact across multiple role levels both internally and externally.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and an ability to diagnose issues and develop solutions.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and proven time management to manage multiple sales-cycles and meet timelines.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, with focus and high attention to detail.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose).
