Huntsman is seeking an IT Specialist supporting our GBS located in Costa Rica.

Job Scope

As the IT Specialist your job functions and responsibilities will be:

- Consults with users to identify current operating procedures, problems, and requirements.
- Designs models and develops materials used for analysis and solution development including process maps and diagrams. Develops documentation and other aids for users to assist with installation, maintenance and operating procedures.
- Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
- Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.
- Knows/applies fundamental concepts of standard practices and procedures of particular field of specialization.
- Under supervision, performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involves limited responsibility.
- Some evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required.
- Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
- Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Assists other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

Required Qualifications:

- Associate degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or Technology Management with 5+ years of equivalent work experience with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in information technology in a deskside support environment.
- OR bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or Technology Management with 3 years of relevant experience working within an ITIL framework, preferably in a Service Desk / Deskside environment where detailed knowledge of the theory and operation aspects of the processes are used.
- Broad Knowledge of IT Software / Hardware and systems to be able to understand the inter-dependencies within service provision and anticipate problem areas.

Specific Skills and Knowledge:

- Fluency in written and spoken English; Any other languages are an extra
- Experience in working in a multinational environment.
- Be able to operate in a rapidly changing, very complex and technical environment.
- Promotes and supports standardization and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated customer focus, empathy, and structured thinking are required, together with high standards of process adherence and a proven record of client satisfaction.
- Demonstrated up to date knowledge of Huntsman’s policy/compliance framework, business processes, reporting procedures, and existing and planned information systems and services for the site(s) in which they operate.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Ability to keep up to date with technological advances.
- Portuguese is HIGHLY desirable.

Foundational knowledge in some or all of the following areas:

- Process Mapping, Requirements Analysis, Software Analysis, System Testing, Systems Analysis, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Software, Integrated Development Environment (IDE), Software and Programming Language.
