Global Financial Services (GFS) was formed in Q3 2018 through the merger of Global Finance Operations, Integrated Finance Solutions and Cash Generation. GFS is at the heart of the Finance function - accountable to the AstraZeneca (AZ) Group for the design and delivery of high quality, simple to operate transactional finance processes that enable our customers to focus on AZ’s strategic priorities.

The creation of the Global Financial Services (GFS) centers in Warsaw (Poland), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and San Jose (Costa Rica) will transform the AZ Middle Office to a central function, supporting the business regions through simplification, standardization across the globe, and a structure that is scalable to support the bold ambition of becoming a $50bn company by 2025.

We have exciting opportunities to join our GFS Center in San Jose, which will establish best practices and be responsible for providing support to embedded finance.

**Role Profile**

The role based in San Jose Costa Rica, is part of the global O2C team which sits within the Global Finance Services (“GFS”) & Group Controllers function. The O2C team has two key elements, the design and ownership of global O2C processes and the operational service delivery responsibility.

The O2C team has representation in Cambridge (UK), Warsaw (Poland), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and San Jose (Costa Rica). We are supported by Genpact operating from Delhi (India), Cluj (Romania), Lublin (Poland), Guatemala City (Guatemala) and Uberlandia (Brazil).

**Key Responsibilities**
- Use data, analytics, knowledge and expertise to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Work to deliver robust sustainable and scalable solutions, fix and drive change; maximize technical efficiency and improve effectiveness on ways of working the ‘end to end’.
- Interact and work closely with fellow O2C team members, provide enhancements to overcome operational challenges to positively influence business outcomes and customer experience.
- Work collaboratively across organizational and geographical boundaries to ensure service levels are maintained or improved.

**Line management**
- Building excellent working knowledge of customer requirements and business drivers.
- Coaching and development of staff will be integral to building a customer orientated mindset.
- Build effective relationships with business partners (Back Office, Embedded Finance, and GFS team) and deliver excellent customer service.
- Ad hoc projects may be assigned as needed.

**Essential Criteria**
- Deep and broad knowledge of O2C in a corporate environment utilizing SAP.
- Inquisitive, energetic, proactive and self-motivated with the capability to build strong internal and external relationships with stakeholders. Confident to challenge the status quo.
- A hands on practical and analytical person with a track record of driving continuous improvement.
- Professional curiosity with a proven ability to investigate issues to ascertain true root cause, identify solutions then deploy successfully either independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills both orally and written. Fluent in English, Spanish & Portuguese

**Desirable criteria**
- Ideally with a relevant qualification e.g. Lean Six Sigma.
