In your _Director - Global Payroll Operations_ role, you’ll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world.
Reporting to the Sr. Director - GBS Global Delivery Network, the Director - Global Payroll Operations is a creative, enthusiastic, and experienced leader responsible for processing payroll accurately and on-time for over 45,000 employees in 60 countries. This role sets the strategic direction for payroll operations, empowers a high-performing, service-oriented team, while driving compliance, innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration with partners including Finance, Legal, Risk and Compliance, Tax, HR, IT, and third-party vendors.
**Your key responsibilities include**:
People Management:
- Direct leadership of regional Payroll teams in NA, EMEA, LAO and APAC, driving accountability and development through coaching and caring
- Coach and develop team members to achieve their potential, elevate their skills and knowledge, and do their best work
- Remove barriers to the team to drive results and team success as a servant leader
Strategy and Process Management:
- Lead the global payroll operations to provide accurate and efficient payroll services by working closely with local teams and payroll regional leaders to ensure payroll is processed as per the defined procedures, guidelines, and legal requirements.
- Develop, champion, and implement a strategic vision for Global Payroll and overall people, process, and system strategy
- Define and establish scalable, agile, and best-in-class global payroll processes and operating model
- Enable team to resolve complex, global payroll and time tracking issues and proactively respond to emerging business needs, M&As, and changing statutory requirements
- Leverage reporting and analytics to measure success and identify improvement opportunities
- Champion continuous improvement, simplification, and automation of processes
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish the global payroll function as a trusted business partner to all key stakeholders and employees worldwide
- Understand and improve up-stream and downstream processes and integrations to ensure flawless execution and delivery of accurate, compliant, and timely payroll and reporting
- Build and maintain a relationship with key stakeholders within the HRIT, Compensation, Finance, and other related organizations to ensure optimization of the end-to-end payroll input and output processes
- Lead the preparation and reviews of relevant management quarterly business reviews, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and payroll metrics
Vendor Management:
- Partner with vendors to create compliant and reliable systems and processes to deliver timely and accurate payroll, taxes, and reporting
- Actively manage vendor relationships, SLAs, and provide ongoing feedback to improve performance, remove pain points, and ensure the best solutions
Compliance, Controls, Audits:
- Ensure compliance and strong control environment over all related Payroll and related financial activities
- Resolves compliance and audit issues
- Continually review and assess risk across the business and design controls to address and mitigate risk
- Optimize standard procedures for payroll processing, ensuring strong internal controls and segregation of duties
- Govern and maintain internal controls in accordance with SOX and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) requirements
- Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are up to date and maintained by payroll personnel

**Basic Qualifications**:
- Global payroll executive with experience in large, multi-national businesses.
- Experience developing and executing global payroll strategy.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in HR, Accounting, Business, Finance, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of hands-on global experience in Payroll, Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Process Management, Program Management or Shared Services.
- Prior people leadership experience managing direct reports and teams.
- Experience leading a geographically dispersed team.
- Experience working with payroll providers or other large vendors in a processing and managed services model.
