**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**

This role is operationally responsible for managing the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of service delivery to the internal and external stakeholders of GBS Americas, as well as maintaining good governance and a robust control environment (with an appropriate balance between risk and controls) for the Procure to Procure (P2P) service line.

**Reports to**: Head of Accounting

**Geographic Scope**: GBS Americas

**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**
- Promote the standardization, automation and simplification of processes that fall within or are on the boundaries of the AP/T&E/Banking Op’s.
- Manage the AP/T&E /Banking Ops team to deliver the efficient and effective processing of invoices and expense claims within a controlled environment and in line with the SLA established for each activity, alongside adherence to the applicable relevant tax regime and within any voluntary codes of standard processBAT has signed up for. Management reporting on all AP/T&E activities.
- Supervise and manage operational performance in line with set KPIs.
- Ensure a controlled environment for the AP/T&E/Banking Ops Team to prevent any potential erroneous or deliberate misdirection of funds.
- Implement Finance transformation initiatives and programmers aimed to have an impact on the services provided by P2P.
- Build and value a diverse team in GBS Americas.
- Set clear performance objectives (POs) for the teams and conduct frequent performance evaluations and reviews against set POs, to manage the teams´ performance.
- Analyze key performance indicators and drive towards efficient and target performance through effective management and innovation.

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related area
- 5 to 10 years of experience in Accounting, Financial Analysis, Business Administration or related area
- A knowledge of SAP is crutial with an understanding of how BAT makes use of the system. A detailed understanding of the relationship with other departments and how their work impacts on the sub ledgers is also essential.
- Good commercial awareness, and awareness of key interfaces and how the work undertaken in the sub-ledgers affects other departments, such as Treasury, Banking Operations, Sales and Distribution, Procurement etc.
- The incumbent should have knowledge of company controls, procedures, and Group policies, as well as knowledge of VAT and tax legislation.

- Adhere to and strengthen controls in a constantly environment.
- Improve levels of customer service among the team and ensure that all queries coming into the teams are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Ensure the smooth running of all the teams to exceed/meet both customer requirements and operational Key Performance Indicator targets.
