The Opportunity
This position works out of our Alajuela, Coyol location in the Electrophysiology business unit. EP is advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
As the Senior Quality Manager, you'll lead group(s) within quality engineering to ensure product quality according to design specifications and effectiveness of the quality system. Ensure compliance to applicable quality procedures, regulations and standards. Implement and manage a structure that will facilitate a consistent implementation of the quality systems. Maintain coordination between functions and increase the awareness and compliance within the quality systems processes.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedures.
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Recruits, coaches and develops organizational talent.

- Provides direction and guidance to exempt specialists and/or supervisory staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.

- Builds strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Makes decisions regarding work process and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.
- Provides input to the annual budget for department(s).
- Coordinate the implementation of quality system requirements at Abbott.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in careers linked to STEAM areas.
- 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience:
- Provides direction and monitors progress of exempt and/or supervisory staff toward departmental goals; monitors costs of projects and of human and material resources within a department or unit; monitors external environment in area of technical or professional responsibility.
- Develops and/or identifies new work processes and the improved utilization of human and material resources.
- Communicates, and builds consensus for operating goals that are in alignment with the division.
- Creates immediate to long-range plans to carry out objectives established by top management; forecasts future departmental needs including human and material resources and capital expenditures; recommends the structure of organizational units or a centralized functional activity for department management review.
- Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish)
