Provides oversight of the implementation of the LAC Strategic Framework through strategic initiatives and coordination across the AO functional teams, identifying risks and gathering the necessary information to assess its progress.


  • Ensures alignment of LAC Strategic Framework with HFHI Office of Strategic Management, including global strategic definitions and participation in the Global Strategy Community of Practice
  • Facilitates roll out and implementation of the regional strategic framework in the LAC region coordinating closely with the Operations Department, national directors, and national boards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the roll out of the Regional Strategic Framework in the LAC AO and NOs in the region.
  • Coordinate with Global OSM and other AOs around the implementation of the global strategic agenda to ensure alignment of strategy support in the region with global practices and initiatives.
  • Support implementation of the housing ecosystem assessment across LAC region, in coordination with Global Strategy, OSM and LAC functional teams.
  • Supervise Regional Strategy team including Change Management, MEAL, Project management, and communications.
  • Ensure that each LAC strategic initiative has a welldocumented project plan with clearly defined activities, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Measure progress across the portfolio of initiatives and results and indicators and tracks and document risks
  • Facilitate/Coordinate the interdepartmental work in the AO, including proactively identifies potential issues or conflicts among the initiatives as well as opportunities to leverage resources or activities across initiatives.
  • Deliver valueadding status reports (dashboards) to the Area Leadership Team that provide clear visibility on progress.

Minimum & Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in development studies, international relations, public or business administration or relevant discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in strategy development and/or change management, and 5 to 7 years of international development experience, preferably with theories of change.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English and Spanish
  • Well organized and able to lead, coordinate and engage effectively with multiple processes simultaneously.
  • Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to provide effective technical leadership and support to a complex federated organization globally, without direct line management authority.
  • Ability to interface with, influence and provide excellent advisory service to all levels of the organization (senior leaders and middle management in LAC Area Office, and national boards and management of HFH country programs).

Preferred - in addition to minimum:

  • Previous experience with Habitat for Humanity International or a member of Habitat's affiliated network.
  • Experience in social housing programs and policies.
  • Experience as a lead facilitator
