Remote Accountant (Costa Rica-Based) – Support for U.S. Accounting Firm

Location: Remote (Costa Rica)Schedule: Full-time, fixed hours aligned with Arizona business hoursCompensation: Starting at $9/hour, depending on experienceExperience Required: Minimum 1 year in accounting or bookkeepingCertification: CPA not required

About the Role:We're hiring a Remote Accountant based in Costa Rica to join a service-driven accounting team that supports a diverse range of U.S.-based clients, including small businesses, startups, and growth-focused organizations. In this role, you'll help deliver accurate, timely, and reliable financial services as part of a collaborative team. This is a remote position with a fixed schedule aligned to Arizona time, ideal for someone who values structure, precision, and client-focused work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily bookkeeping and maintain clean, organized financial records
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with basic tax preparation and reporting
  • Track and categorize expenses, invoices, and payments
  • Collaborate with the internal team to ensure smooth client service delivery

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured workflows
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal)
  • CPA certification is not required
