Molding Engineer Technician 3

This is a full-time position to work Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pm in our Heredia site, located in Zona Franca Metropolitana.

Our Molding Engineers Technicians 3 provide technical support to the injection molding project validations and support to the daily basis issues with production floors when needed. The position has freedom to perform task on their own, all of the task for every day will be different, the position can create, design, implement changes in process or documentation related to process.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Execute with Molding NPI Engineering Validations and perform SIM stage (Scientific Injection Molding)
• Fulfill validation documentation packages (DHR), forms, and any applicable documentation required to sustain validation runs.
• Support the Engineering department during qualification (IQ-PD-OQ/PQ) and other validation activities for new products, processes, changes and transfers as per FDA regulations.
• Install with the engineer new or current equipment and molds to support new product development, existing molding/manufacturing process changes, replication or scale-up.
• Set up of molding machines in order to begin with validations activities.
• Set up of molding robots using EOAT (End of arm tools) for NPI validations or regular production.
• Troubleshoot existing molding processes due to quality issues typical of the injection molding industry.
• Assist on any activities require during validation stages.
• Support the manufacturing production floor if needed and the NPI operation allowed.
• Assist the Molding Manufacturing Operation to fulfil manufacturing documentation packages, reports, and any applicable documentation required to sustain the manufacture operation.
• Develop process for new molds on current or new machines on his own, coordinate everything needed for validation execution related to molds, machines and materials.
• Source equipment for new projects, request quotes and coordinate installation of equipment inside clean rooms.
• Create validation documentation with engineering help, such as BOM, ITM, MOP, MIQ, MFGSPEC.
• Analyze new and existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to maximize quality and productivity.
• Create robot recipes for the different machines from zero.
• Share knowledge and experiences to other molding technicians and operators in order to level the molding
• knowledge and improve the problems solving response.
• Create validation documentation on its own for documents such as BOM, ITM, MOP, MIQ, MFGSPEC, Protocols and reports.
• Capable of communicate technical problems with molding supervisors, line leaders and Molding Engineers.
• Need to be able to communicate verbally or thru applications such as email or teams. Need to negotiate with the production floor for available time to execute his testing and coordinate engineering task.

Job Experience:

• 4 or more years of experience in injection molding environment.
• 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing environment (Desirable).
• Experience within the medical manufacturing field (Desirable).

Education/Knowledge:

• Knowledge and experience on the injection molding process
• Knowledge of the scientific molding theory and procedures
• Intermediate English
• High school degree (Desirable).
• Injection Molding Troubleshooting (Desirable).
• Technical degree on plastic injection molding (Desirable).
• Statistical knowledge (Desirable).
