Projects Engineer 2

The SYSS Engineering Group in Latin America provides fully engineered control system solutions for power and process plants in the Americas.  The group focuses on installing and replacing plant control systems with Emerson DCS's (Delta V & Ovation) and Reliability and SCADA Solutions providing engineering design, system integration, testing and commissioning services to deliver comprehensive solutions to our customers.  The successful candidate will be an essential part of the group with responsibilities of participating in projects supporting regional offices such us Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and also US Offices.

• Read and interpret process drawings (PFD, P&ID). Perform engineering activities related to Distributed Control Systems Configuration.  Take part in project implementation following the QMS system requirements. 
• Generate project documentation. 
• Plans and coordinates technical design and engineering implementation of project work. 
• Participates in the execution of procedures for factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and startup activities. 
• Interface with customer to determine detail scope definition. 
• Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines. 
• Team player approach on project execution. 
• PLC configuration and programming knowledge.  
• Basic Instrumentation and ISA symbology knowledge. 
• Process control knowledge. 
• Organized, Customer focus, Problem Solving.

For this role, you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or Chemical engineering from an accredited university with a minimum 2 years of experience (Technicians with 3-4 years of experience). 
• Experience with any of the following Control Systems: Emerson, ABB, Invensys, Honeywell, Westinghouse, Bristol Babcock, Yokogawa, Siemens, Rockwell, etc. 
• Experience with any of the following HMI, SCADA  or PCLsoftware packages: Wonderware, Rockwell, Intellution, GE Cimplicity, Ci-Tech, Iconics, Siemens, US Data, National Instruments. 
• Experience reading and interpreting process drawings (PFD, P&ID).
• Experience in Food or Beverage Processing, Chemical, Bio-Tech, Oil and gas, Petrochemical, and Pharmaceutical industries is a plus. 
• Intermediate English. 
• Travel for short and long periods of time is required (60% required). 

Preferred qualifications that set you apart:

• Portuguese is a Plus. 
• Knowledge on communication protocols like OPC, Modbus, Profibus, FF, HART
• Familiarity with virtualized systems, cybersecurity, and networking is desirable.
