About the Role – Procurement SME (Mexico)

We are hiring an experienced
Procurement Subject Matter Expert (SME)
to support a strategic ERP migration from
AS400 systems to SAP S/4HANA
. This role is critical to ensuring procurement continuity, data integrity, and process optimization across our Mexico operations.

The SME will collaborate closely with Procurement, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to define, test, and refine procurement workflows and controls in the new ERP environment.


Key Responsibilities

Purchase Order (PO) Management

  • Lead the clean-up and maintenance of purchase orders to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies, duplicates, and errors in PO records
  • Establish and promote best practices for PO lifecycle management

PIR & Material Master Data Management

  • Oversee the cleansing and preparation of Purchase Info Records (PIR) and Material Master data
  • Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate and verify master data integrity

Supplier Master Data Oversight

  • Manage supplier onboarding and updates, ensuring compliance with internal and Mexican regulatory requirements

Data Validation & Preparation

  • Conduct comprehensive validation of procurement data to meet technical and operational standards
  • Develop and implement data validation protocols to ensure high-quality data migration and system readiness


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field
  • (Advanced students may be considered if they have relevant experience)
  • Hands-on experience with
    AS400 systems and SAP S/4HANA
    –
    ideal but not mandatory
  • Proven expertise in procurement master data management
  • Advanced proficiency in
    Power BI and Excel
  • Proficiency in ERP and data management tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Intermediate English and Portuguese proficiency (desired but not indispensable)
  • 2–4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain operations in
    Mexico
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and project management methodologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio and Office Suite -
    ideal but not mandatory
