Industrial Engineering Intern – Global Business Services (GBS)
Our intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled full-time students at an accredited university. The internship runs for 10 months. Working hours can be a minimum of 24 hours up to 40 hours per week, depending on the intern's availability. The goal of the Huntsman Intern Program is to provide a structured experience that equips interns with skills for a successful career.
Role Overview
As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in process optimization and digital transformation within a Global Business Services environment. Under the guidance of the GBS Continuous Improvement team, you will support initiatives that enhance efficiency, standardization, and customer experience across multiple business functions.
Role Responsibilities
- Process Optimization & Standardization: Assist in mapping workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing improvements using Lean principles.
- Performance Measurement & Analytics: Support the development of KPIs, dashboards, and data analysis to monitor service performance.
- Automation & Digital Transformation: Collaborate with automation teams to identify opportunities for RPA and digital tools.
- Capacity Planning & Resource Allocation: Help analyze workload data and assist in resource optimization projects.
- Continuous Improvement Culture: Participate in CI workshops and contribute ideas for operational excellence.
- Quality & Compliance: Assist in reviewing processes for compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
- Customer Experience & Service Design: Support initiatives to improve turnaround times and enhance user satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Current student in Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Excellent proficiency in English (B2+), both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of data visualization tools is a plus.
- Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent team player.
