Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for managing end-to-end accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, travel and expense transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies, service level agreements, and contractual requirements. This role also supports BPO process migrations to the Costa Rica Service Center and contributes to process optimization and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, process, and accurately code invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Verify invoices for proper documentation, approvals, and correct general ledger coding.
  • Resolve complex invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and vendor account inquiries.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, wire transfers, and electronic payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding balances or discrepancies.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and accruals.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Analyze accounts payable data and prepare reports related to vendor performance, payment trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Procurement, IT) to improve processes and communication.
  • Support the migration of in-scope BPO functions to the Costa Rica Service Center, including as-is and to-be process reviews.
  • Identify and implement automation and digitization opportunities to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to junior accounts payable staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (B2+ written and spoken).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of accounting regulations, compliance requirements, and confidentiality standards.
