Our Teen Spanish Summer Camp combines intensive Spanish learning, homestay living, exciting cultural excursions, and adventure tours that help young learners grow linguistically and personally in Costa Rica's vibrant environment.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and caring Camp Leader to guide and support groups of teenagers (ages during our 2026 Teen Spanish Summer Camp sessions. This role is perfect for someone passionate about youth development, cultural exchange, and adventure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and mentor groups of campers throughout daily activities and excursions, creating a safe inclusive atmosphere

• Assist in planning and executing daily schedule elements including cultural activities, tours, and immersion experiences

• Serve as a liaison between campers and school staff facilitating smooth communication and guiding behavior expectations

• Supervise and participate in all camp excursions such as city tours, nature hikes, and adventure activities

• Manage WhatsApp communication groups for parents and campers, providing daily updates and photos

• Provide emotional support to campers adjusting to being abroad and living with host families

• Support emergency protocols and contribute to camper wellbeing throughout the program

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth, camps, or educational programs

• Strong communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is highly desirable

• Ability to remain calm adaptable and patient in dynamic settings

• Basic first aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain one prior to program start

• Willingness to live and work abroad with a commitment to program dates (June to August for 2026)

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive monetary compensation for full participation in all three camp sessions

• 45 hours of private Spanish instruction from a native professor (if desired)

• Homestay accommodation including meals Wi-Fi and laundry services (if needed)

• Paid participation in all camp tours and activities

• Flight compensation to and from Costa Rica (from USA)
