The Studio Manager in Devices Brand Studio leads a team of production designers, developing individual talent while also overseeing the creative work and vision for their team. This role is a part of the Systems and Scale team and with this lens in mind they work with their team to automate and scale the delivery of high-quality design deliverables that follow brand and event style guidelines and invent and simplify processes to allow for efficient creative production.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage the workload of the team, foresee capacity issues, and work with the business to plan and set expectations and track key metrics to meet goals.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure alignment on timelines, customer experience, design style-guides, and automation
- Work with the team to innovate, automate and build in efficiencies in delivery and quality.
- Work with stakeholders such as program management, marketing operations, and onsite merchandisers to drive alignment around design and resourcing decisions that impact their team.
- Manage new team members onboarding and support overall team development.
- Define, recognize and develop talent.
- Support organization with OP1 and Roadmap planning.
- Manage employees outside of functional expertise in SJO and develop dotted line reporting structure/mechanism
- Handle administration tasks for hours reporting and vacation coding
- Maintain communication with GREF and IT POCs for site allocation and IT equipment for all employees.
- Share knowledge and learnings with other partners and peers to drive improvements in the design process and the quality of deliverables
- Advocate for the quality customer experience by initiating collaboration with partners and stakeholders in high-visibility projects such a Prime Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday.
- Escalate appropriately to stakeholders and leadership when customer experience or timelines are at risk.
- Provide recommendations and provides possible solutions to roadblocks.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Experience with design principles, typography, layout, and grid structures.
- Time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to deal with ambiguity
- Experience with Figma
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of design process, specifically production design.
- Passion for design systems and knowledgeable about new technologies and processes within the field of design
- Knowledge of Costa Rican Labor Laws
