This role will sit in the Global Pricing team and will focus on driving and supporting pricing-specific initiatives at Western Union by using Data Science techniques.
**Role Responsibilities**
- Work with a team of data scientists and other leaders to develop models that deliver business results at scale.
- Conduct ad-hoc/exploratory analysis and provide accurate results in response to internal and external requests.
- Create presentations that describe model results and recommendation to senior executives and other key stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to team huddles and strategy sessions. Champion company purpose and values, as well as policies/procedures.
- Perform customer analytics and focus on customer experience to support improvement across end-to-end Platform Operations.
- Enable the key strategic objectives of white label partnerships: work with Leader, Data Science, Insights, and Analytics in identifying, and proposing areas of opportunity for lean, process automation, and artificial intelligence techniques.
- Be able to see how operational processes affect the overall customer experience.
Work with Leader, Data Science, Insights, and Analytics to support business leaders (managers/directors) in the Data Science, Insights and Analytics process related solutions within their area through applicable tools such as visual management, performance management, problem solving and implementation.
- Connect data, analytics and strategic thinking to define and evaluate actionable opportunities.
- Develop predictive analytics to guide the financial and operational planning process, influencing how to attain strategic objectives.
**Role Requirements**
- Data Scientist degree or in a similar field such as Economics, Statistics, or Math.
- 5-7 years of experience in Data Analytics or quantitative engineering field.
- People Manager experience and skills are important for career progression in this role.
- In addition to business and leadership skills, we are looking for someone willing to be hands-on
- Skilled in data wrangling & modeling (Python preferred), database querying (SQL), and use of cloud-based platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Sagemaker).
- Knowledge of best-practice modeling techniques for one or more of the following will be helpful: price elasticity, consumer demand modeling, experimental design, time series analysis, or forecasting.
- Pricing, Revenue Management, or Financial Services experience is a plus.
- High English proficiency C1+ to communicate across a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze problems and produce a justification to enhance pricing decisions.
- Ability to rapidly synthesize data and model results into insights & recommendations (i.e., taking the “What” and defining the “So What” and “Now What”).
