Sr. Software Engineer for CloudPhysics Data Platform

This role has been designated as ‘Edge’, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.

**_ Job Family Definition:_**

Lead engineer for the to-be-hired team of resources to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develop and architect software for the CloudPhysics data platform that collects data from on premises data center infrastructure (virtual infrastructure, storage etc.) and public clouds (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP), ingests and perform various data processing and analysis tasks. Participate and influence data platform design and operations.

Brings technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions.

Collaborates with project managers and development partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of Cloud engagements.

**_ How you´ll make your mark:_**
- Develop software and organization-wide architecture methodology for data platform component within a global business unit.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; create plans for integration and update into architecture.
- Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards; provide tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
- Leverage recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.

**_ Education and Experience Required: _**
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Typically, 10+ years’ experience.
- Strong proficiency in C, C++ or Java and good debugging.
- Software development management skills.
- English level advanced.

**_ About you:_**
- Experience designing and developing software systems design tools and languages.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in overall architecture of cloud and data platforms for products and solutions.
- Experience using API for public cloud and private cloud infrastructure such as VMware virtual infrastructure, Storage arrays, AWS, Azure,
- Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.
- Evaluating and selecting tools and technologies, for development, debugging and testing software components.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
