UX/UI Designer

The Brand Studio within Smartsheet is looking for a UX/UI Designer, fluent in principles of design thinking to conceptualize and design engaging, valuable and intuitive user experiences for our Brand Marketing team. In addition, you will represent the end-user and evangelize human-centered methodologies to ensure a design that truly meets people's needs from first-time users to seasoned experts. We're growing the Smartsheet brand in every direction, and we need a UX/UI designer with an ability to conceptualize narrative, experience, and systems with an insatiable appetite for human insight, empathy, and connection to customers. In addition to being skilled in your craft, you will have the discipline to execute flawlessly end-to-end.

You will report to the Design Director located in Costa Rica.

**You Will**:

- Create task flows, wireframes, low to high fidelity interactive prototypes based on user and business data
- Conduct usability testing and incorporate user and team feedback.
- Provide assets, specifications, and guidance for implementation of the user interface throughout the development process.
- Rapidly iterate on prototypes and designs to A/B test and experiment on the most effective solutions.
- Ability to follow and improve design patterns and style guides
- Create UX deliverables and specifications documents, including detailed redlines, to hand off to developers
- Ability and desire to support UX team in other areas of the human-centered design process, including user research, usability testing, information architecture, and interaction design
- Ability to collaborate across teams and departments
- Work with internal teams to design experiences across digital and physical touchpoints based on established style guides and design systems.
- Present your work to internal and external stakeholders to receive feedback and direction.
- Share (and document) your knowledge and perspective with your peers.
- Advocate for process improvements related to production efficiencies and best practices.
- Juggle a mix of large and small projects, often with overlapping priority and urgency.
- Continually adopt new tools and practices as the work evolves
- Work with other departments to gain a deep understanding of user needs and goals and communicate them to cross-functional product teams

**You have**:

- Experience facilitating activities to gather insights on user needs and goals and conducting usability testing.
- Experience designing simple solutions for complex problems.
- Passion for and understanding of the full human-centered design process and desire to work on a team that truly follows it
- Proven track record for crafting simple, creative solutions for complex problems
- Strong experience design skills
- Strong interaction design and prototyping skills
- High degree of proficiency with UX Tools (Figma, XD, Zeplin, etc) and design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop is desirable
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (Drupal knowledge a plus)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (visual, written, verbal, presentation); ability to work successfully with teams across the organization from different capabilities and backgrounds.
- Highly organized, track and document all work
- Academic studies/certifications or relevant experience on Design Thinking, Human Centered Design and UX/UI Design.
